Solidarity as Homebase was the first public event hosted by The Institute for the Arts, Humanities and Social Justice. It took place on May 4, 2022 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm PT and was attended by over 240 people, including students, faculty, and community members.

Solidarity as Homebase was presented in partnership with Artists United to End Homelessness and included collaborators from California State University, Fullerton; Arts Connection, San Bernardino; and the SDSU Economic Crisis Response Team.

Artwork created by students in Illustrations classes at SDSU taught by Neil Shigley. Keynote Speaker: Renée Westbrook Panelists: Tyrone Stokes, Logan Goverman, Maya Ginsberg (Lecturer at SDSU), Peter Cirino (Head of Performance in the School of Theatre, Television, and Film at SDSU).
